Student Choreographer Series (SCS) was created to allow for young artists to express themselves through their own movement. SCS harvests dancer’s creations and opens an environment of feedback, critique, and growth.
Dancers will have the chance to show their self-choreographed works to a panel of professional choreographers for feedback. Dancers will be given time to rehearse and change their pieces according to the feedback from the panel. Dancers will have the opportunity to learn about choreographic composition, improvisation, and master classes with these prestigious artists.

$25 per person participating (includes Student Choreographer Series T-Shirt)
STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY ENTRY FEES
$20 per piece
STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP FEES
$99 for 3 Workshop Classes
TIME LIMITS
Student Choreography 2:30-5:00 minutes
MUSIC, COSTUMES, CONTENT
Must be family friendly and age appropriate.
CATEGORIES
TAP - Tap routines must consist primarily of tap technique. Recorded tap sounds are not permitted.
JAZZ - Jazz routines must consist primarily of jazz technique.
BALLET/POINTE - Routines must consist of ballet technique including classical steps and movement.
HIP HOP - Routines should consist of hip hop and street dance styles.
ACRO - Routines must consist of at least 50% acrobatic/gymnastic stunts incorporating dance technique and choreography.
MUSICAL THEATRE - Features any style of dance interpreting a song/character from a Broadway Show, Musical, Movie, etc.
LYRICAL - Routines that demonstrate a mix of jazz and ballet techniques incorporating emotional and storytelling elements
CONTEMPORARY/MODERN - Routines consisting of modern and ballet technique, reaching beyond the standard jazz vocabulary.
OPEN - Anything that does not apply to the above listed categories.
COVID-19 REGULATIONS
Student Choreographer Series adheres to C.D.C. (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) Guidelines regarding isolation and quarantine for COVID-19 and all other communicable diseases.
Proper cleaning and sanitizing follows state guidelines.
People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
For the safety of our participants, adjudicators, staff, and families, please do not bring students and other family members into the building if communicable disease symptoms are present.
ALL FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE
(Sorry, no refunds on entries will be made. Only credits toward future STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHER SERIES events.)

* Q&A with Colleges & Universities where you will get to speak with representatives from College Dance Departments regarding your future
